Monster#9

It may not be clear for the viewer but I did try to time my transitions more in rhythm with the music this time. It is a bit hard to do when the material is so monotonous. I do not really know what to do about that but I guess we could add a different angle or something. I was also thinking that it might be good to have the view from the other side so that the viewer can see Helgas face when she is working but that poses two problems, will she want that and the view will be from the back of the monsters as well so…. indecisive here.

I have become a youtube partner. Theoretically that means I can upload videos today and automatically publish them tomorrow but that would mean forethought so here is the video I made this morning.

Monster#7

well not much to say! Her we go again!

Monster#6

Keeping it coming. I have gotten really fast at editing these videos and though I know they are no timeless masterpieces I can feel how with repetition the workflow quickens and time just seems to glide by. When time passes you by without notice that means you are having a good time. So I guess I like cutting video. Who knew?

Well here is Monster#6

Youtube thumbnails – there they are

Where do I find and how do I get the thumbnail that my youtube video uses?

As easy as that?
-Yes!

For instance you can have a look at these:

Thats it thats all!

Made some progress in my editing technique mostly in regards to not hesitating, trying stuff and rolling with it knowing that I can always go back and change it if I don´t like what I see. I also finished the intro for the most part witch is good. And now here for your enjoyment is the video itself.

Oh I almost forgot I have lifted all of the music I use without consent from the musicians or even attributed them so in an effort to at least attribute the stuff here is the band info… Oh wait this is happens to be from the FreeMuicArchive and now we can all enjoy it without a bad conscience.

Well it was touch and go there for a moment last night but the video was made and published. We did the beginnings of an intro to the video series yesterday. That took up some of my time last evening so and then it got late and I was heading for bed when I thought we can not fail to make the video just on the third monster! I mean I have tried to do one of those thirty day challenges and not made it but never quit on the third day. In a way maybe I should have. Quitting gets easier every time I do it :-/

I digress after brushing my teeth I headed back to the ol’ ‘puter and clambered this video together in a hurry. I must say it gets easier every time.

This is in no way definite proof that we will accomplish making a monster daily for 100 days but still a start. Particularly pleased with the ease of use of iMovie for quick and simple stuff.

Sadly iMovie follows the trend of all apple products of hiding the inner workings of the devices and software. I have yet to figure out where iMovie stores its source files or if the source files are left where they were originally. What is an “event”? Why can I only set the speed of the clip being showed in increments of the power of two (2, 4, 8, 16)? How can I or why can I not tune the amplitude of the audio to different levels at different times?

I have to find some music I can use without trouble if we really are going to make 100 of these. Also learn more editing tricks though the Ken Burns effect is really fun to play with it is like the rest of the iMove controls tool simple to use if I want to make something more of it.

With no further ado here is the video:

A Monster A Day

Inspired by DailyMonster that makes these brilliant beautiful drawings all beginning with an ink blotch Helga and me thought maybe a Daily monster in clay would be something for us. This is the first attempt at doing it and I am sure we can improve on it a good deal. Still I think it is a nice beginning and the music is amazing. The music is lifted from Fat Berri’s and I think the original far outperforms the remix.

The resulting video that was also one of my first attempts at sitting at the iMovie cutting board looks like this:
